FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What kind of games is Joygame Select looking for?
We’re not restrictive by genre, but we primarily focus on PC and Steam titles. We prioritize projects with a strong core idea, clear marketability, and high replay value.
Is the first $50,000 in gross revenue really 100% ours?
Yes. Until your game reaches $50,000 in gross revenue, Joygame Select’s revenue share is 0%. After that threshold, the agreed revenue share model applies.
How is the marketing budget managed? Is it deducted from our revenue share?
No. In our standard model, marketing spend is not deducted from the developer’s revenue share. We define the campaign budget and plan together, and budget management and reporting are handled transparently. (If there are any exceptions, they are clarified in writing in advance.)
Do you provide funding?
For selected projects, we can provide development funding (co-investment). This is evaluated on a case-by-case basis, depending on the game’s stage, the team’s needs, and market potential.
What does “gross revenue” mean?
Gross game revenue: The amount remaining after refunds/chargebacks, but before Steam’s commission and any required legal deductions.

What does “net revenue” mean?
Net game revenue: The amount remaining after deducting Steam’s commission and any mandatory sales-related deductions (e.g., withholding tax) from the gross amount.
At what stage should I submit my game?
Ideally with a Vertical Slice or a playable Alpha build. We need to play the game to evaluate the “fun factor.” If you have a strong prototype and a proven track record, we’re open to discussions at an earlier stage as well.
Do we keep the IP (intellectual property) and creative control?
Yes. The studio keeps the IP, and creative decisions are handled collaboratively with the studio. We cover publishing, growth, and operations.
Who owns the Steam page / publisher account?
Depending on the publishing structure, Steam-related processes are handled through Joygame Select’s publishing operations. Store management, campaign execution, and the operating plan are built together with the studio.
Do you work with mobile games?
Our primary focus is Steam and PC/Console. However, if your game is PC-first and designed as a cross-platform title (PC + Mobile), we’re happy to review it.
What should I send for submission?
For the fastest evaluation, please share: your Steam page link or pitch deck, gameplay video/trailer, current build status, team & timeline, and your goals.
How long does the evaluation take?
If the materials are complete, our initial response time may vary based on workload. Sharing a build and your Steam page link upfront significantly speeds things up.
What kinds of projects are usually not a fit?
Mobile projects that are not truly Steam-ready (i.e., “forced PC ports”), copycat titles without a clear USP, projects with IP/licensing risks, and low-quality/assetflip productions are generally not our priority.
