A YOUTH OF HARDSHIP
In the labyrinthine streets of the pre-Islamic Arab lands, Ghazi’s story unfolded against a backdrop of shadows and blades. Kidnapped as an infant by the malevolent Shadow Prince, Ghazi was thrust into the chains of slavery. Forced to beg on the streets under the Shadow Prince’s ruthless rule, Ghazi’s youth was marred by hardship. At the age of 11, his attempt to escape met a cruel end when the vengeful Shadow Prince gouged out one of his eyes.
THE DESIRE FOR REVENGE TRAINED HIM!
But adversity became the crucible that shaped Ghazi’s destiny. Fascinated by the art of knives, he became a master of these deadly blades. At the age of 14, fueled by the desire for revenge, he seized an opportunity to escape, taking revenge on the slave owner who had maimed him. He honed his skills to survive alone on the mean streets and joined the thieves’ guild, gaining a reputation in the underworld. His mastery of knives earned him a chilling nickname: “the glow of death.” By the age of 21, he had risen to the leadership of the Thieves’ Guild and redirected his illegal activities for the greater good. Raids on the city’s slave traders filled the guild’s coffers and diverted them to the welfare of the people, earning the guild both wealth and a laudable reputation. However, his fate took a significant turn when whispers of rebellion against Emperor Kisra reached his ears.
WHISPERS RISE AMONG THE PEOPLE; THE GLARE OF DEATH
Attracted not by the lure of treasure but by the prospect of standing up to the greatest tyrant, Ghazi quickly aligned himself with the cause of Hind and freedom. Leading his guild into the fray, he organized sneak attacks on the emperor’s army and systematically disrupted Kisra’s economic interests by plundering Kisra’s caravans. In the crucible of the Great War of Liberation, his cunning and heroism on the front line became legendary and he played a pivotal role in the liberation struggle. Even today, Ghazi, as the leader of his guild, walks around the city as a living legend. Whispers among the populace speak of the “glow of death”, a guardian lurking in the shadows, ready to dispense justice to every new slave trader who dares to emerge from the sands.
